Thirty-two films have been produced to-date by the founder of the company, Philippe Bober, who has worked with ground-breaking directors* beginning early in their careers that include Lars von Trier (Europa, The Kingdom, Breaking The Waves) and Lou Ye (Suzhou River). Coproduction Office's international sales activity is centered on the exploitation of a catalog composed - in addition to the films produced by Philippe Bober - of restored classics, notably key works by Roberto Rossellini. The catalogue is known for its artistic strength and consistency, and its, at times, transgressive content and always distinctive cinematic language.

JOB OUTLINE

You will assist our Head of sales Sophie Cabon and our Managing director Philippe Bober with:

  • Researching about Chinese Directors, their previous films and current projects, supporting our founder Philippe Bober for acquisitions of Chinese-speaking films
  • Researching about Chinese distribution companies’ distribution history
  • Scheduling meetings for international Markets and festivals
  • Interpreting during some meetings our founder has with Chinese directors or companies
  • Following up with Chinese and international distributors
  • Searching for Chinese and international prospective customers, market studies
  • Participation to test screenings of our films
  • Assisting our founder during festivals and markets (including personal assistance)
  • Translating from Chinese to English and from English to Chinese, copywriting in Chinese

YOU ARE:

  • A native Chinese speaker with an exquisite command of written and spoken Chinese, and a fully fluent French and/or German-speaker with an excellent command of English
  • Proficient with Excel (market studies, budgets etc.)
  • Able to demonstrate previous experience, or interest in the film industry
  • A perfectionist, with attention to detail and meeting deadlines
  • Eloquent and have social skills, are capable of interacting with professionals in different sectors: film industry, public sector, artists
  • Flexible with a proactive skill set
  • Computer savvy and proficient in cloud-based applications and virtual workspaces

YOU WILL:

  • Gain an oversight on different aspects of the company, including finance and production as we are small and flexible company

JOB OUTLINE:

You will assist our in-house producers, our founder Philippe Bober (and our CFO) with tasks related to production financing and planning, production, reporting and cost accounting that may include:

  • Preparation of film financing applications (German and European film and cinema funds)
  • Researches about funds, investors and credit lines
  • Work on film budgets
  • Cost reports for grants and producers
  • Assisting the in-house producers in the preparation and follow up of the shooting and post-production
  • Copywriting of texts in German language (for instance for press books or financing applications), and occasional translations into German
  • Participation to test screenings of our films
  • Updating of monitoring tools

YOU ARE:

  • A native or fully-fluent German speaker with an exquisite command of written German and an excellent command of English. A knowledge of French would be a plus.
  • Proficient with Excel (budgets, cash-flows…)
  • Able to demonstrate previous experience in the film industry (a plus) and interest in financial topics

JOB OUTLINE:

You will assist our Head of sales and occasionally our managing director Philippe Bober with some (and not all) of the following tasks:

  • Planning (marketing and sales) before each international market
  • Scheduling meetings for international Markets and festivals
  • Following up with international distributors
  • Searching for prospective customers, market studies
  • Improving and updating the client and deal database
  • Occasionally assisting our founder during festivals and markets (including personal assistance)
  • Ensuring communication during the creation of a film’s marketing with the graphic designers, the decision makers and the printers
  • Participation to test screenings of our films
  • Preparing sales financing applications (French and European funds)

YOU ARE:

  • A native or fully-fluent English-speaker with an excellent command of a second language (German, or Chinese is a plus)

Coproduction Office is based in Paris and Berlin.
We are looking for a skilled web developer to provide long-term maintenance and support to the company’s website, as well as ad-hoc coding and design implementations and updates. You will be working directly with our Marketing Coordinator, our IT specialist and our graphic designer to program, troubleshoot and launch all-things website.

JOB OUTLINE:

Required:

- 5+ years of experience in website programming
- Mandatory proficiency in:

  • JavaScript (including jQuery)
  • Craft CMS 3 (plugins development is a plus)
  • PHP 7+ (with strong PSR-6 and PSR-16 workable experience for API development/consumption)
  • Experience with Plesk Onyx, GIT and LAMP environments
  • Twig
  • HTML and CSS

- Experience with websites connected to a database
- Availability to provide support on call and willingness to react to last-minute requests
- Patient and open to long feedback process
- Ability to communicate complex technical issues to and coordinate the troubleshooting with co-workers without technical literacy
- A perfectionist with an outstanding attention to detail
- Organized, punctual and flexible

Desired:

- GitLab as preferred repository for issue tracking
