JOB OUTLINE

You will work in Coproduction Office’s finance department in interaction with other departments (sales, production, festivals, marketing, deliverables) and participate to the following tasks:

  • Providing support in day-to-day finance administration to ensure smooth departmental operations.

  • Conducting pre-accounting tasks, verifying external accounting entries to align with the company's sales and production activities, with a particular emphasis on topics such as: film collection agencies and production credits.

  • Implementing a payment control procedure, streamlining non-bank transfer expenses among colleagues, retrieving invoices and receipts, thereby minimizing information loss.

  • Maintaining up-to-date monitoring charts, including payables and receivables tracking, to facilitate effective financial oversight.

JOB OUTLINE

As a Sales Intern, you will support the team with tasks including:

  • Assist our sales executives with the market preparation and during markets (scheduling meetings, researching distributors, preparing documents and presentations on our films, assisting on the logistics, etc.).

  • Follow up with international distributors after the markets (preparing information on films, screeners, and others).

  • Search for prospective partners (market studies); improve and update the clients and sales database and contacts list.

  • Assist the sales team in the negotiation for film sales, for example by reflecting on selling points and gathering information on a film.

JOB OUTLINE

You will assist our producers and our CFO throughout the entire lifecycle of a film — from early development to financing, production, post-production, festival premieres, and international distribution via our in-house sales branch — on our current projects by Ruben Östlund, Ulrich Seidl, Jessica Hausner, and Susanne Heinrich.

  • Gain insight on the independent film industry while working on unique films.

  • Perform some of the following tasks as a member of our Production team:
    • Researching funds, investors, and credit lines

    • Conducting specific research related to individual film projects

    • Assisting with film budgets

    • Assisting with cost reports for producers and financing partners

    • Assisting with the legal aspects of international co-productions

    • Preparing applications for the funding of films (German and European film and cinema funds)

    • Assisting the in-house producers in preparing and following up on shootings and post-production

    • Copywriting texts in German (for instance for press books or for funding applications), and occasionally translating into German

    • Participating in, and occasionally helping with, the organisation of test screenings of films in post-production

    • Updating monitoring tools

    • Interacting with all the departments of the Coproduction Office and facilitating administrative processes, and in particular communicating with the finance team at the Paris office.

    • Participating in the bookkeeping for projects and being a point of contact for the accounting team

    • Participating in the budgeting and reporting tasks related to film production

    • Scheduling (and occasionally attending) meetings with international partners

    • Preparing and following up on meetings: logistics, recordings, transcripts, to do lists, coordinating and implementing follow ups.

You are:

  • Comfortable with writing texts and have an excellent command of English and German (written and spoken). A knowledge of French or Italian is a plus.

  • Detail-oriented and deadline-focused

  • Creative and able to think outside the box

  • Able to demonstrate previous experience in the film industry (a plus) and an interest in financial topics

  • Passionate for cinema

  • Flexible and proactive

  • Proficient with Excel (budgets, cash-flows, etc.)

  • Eloquent and have good social skills, are capable of interacting with professionals in different sectors: the film industry, the public sector, artists etc.

  • Proficient in writing memorandums

  • Computer savvy and proficient in cloud-based applications and virtual workspaces
