Based in Paris and Berlin, Coproduction Office is an international distributor and producer of bold, award-winning films.

Coproduction Office's CEO and founder Philippe Bober has worked with prominent ground-breaking directors* from early on in their careers and has produced thirty-two films to date. The majority of these films were selected for the main competitions in Cannes, Venice and Berlin, where they have received many major prizes, most notably the Venice Golden Lion in 2014 for Roy Andersson’s A PIGEON SAT ON A BRANCH REFLECTING ON EXISTENCE, and the Palme d’Or in 2017 for THE SQUARE by Ruben Östlund.

Coproduction Office's international sales division distributes a catalogue composed of films produced by Philippe Bober as well as acquired titles and restored classics, including Roberto Rossellini’s key films. The catalogue is unique for its artistic strength, with films that have an individual and distinctive cinematic language, and often daring content.

Coproduction Office is looking for a Sales Coordinator to complete our team of nine people. We are looking for a globally-minded colleague, who has organizational skills, is result-oriented and has an interest in art-house cinema.

JOB OUTLINE:

You will assist our Head of sales and occasionally our managing director Philippe Bober with some (and not all) of the following tasks:

  • Planning (marketing and sales) before each international market
  • Searching for prospective customers, improving and updating the client and deal database
  • Following up with international distributors after each market
  • Drafting Deal Memos
  • Preparing sales financing applications (French, German and European funds)
  • International Sales for catalogue titles and some territories for new titles
  • Ensuring communication during the creation of a film’s marketing with the marketing team, graphic designers, decision makers (directors, producers, distributors), vendors, printing companies
  • Participating in test screenings of our films
  • Participating in strategic discussion about the positioning and marketing of a film

YOU ARE:

  • Able to demonstrate previous experience in the film industry, and in particular in international sales.
  • A native or fully-fluent English-speaker with an excellent command of a second language (German, French, or Chinese is a plus
  • Proficient with Excel (market studies, budgets etc.)
  • Eloquent, with strong communication skills, you are capable of interacting with film professionals (distributors, funds, directors...)
  • A perfectionist, with attention to detail and able to consistently meet deadlines
  • Flexible with a proactive skill set
  • Computer savvy and proficient in cloud-based applications and virtual workspaces
  • Thorough, and able to ensure that all tasks are completed in a fast-paced environment

YOU WILL:

  • Obtain valuable experience in international sales from working with our Head of Sales, Sophie Cabon, as well as with our founder, Philippe Bober, on unique films
  • Gain an oversight on different aspects of the company, including finance and production, as we are small and flexible company

JOB OUTLINE:

Post-production supervisor:

Coproduction Office currently has three films in post-production among which IL BUCO by Michelangelo Frammartino, MEMORY HOTEL by Heinrich Sabl and one film in production TRIANGLE OF SADNESS by Ruben Östlund, for which two films already have appointed post-supervisors who might need support for the Berlin-based post-production. Further upcoming films would be supervised internally.

Deliverables coordinator:

  • Managing multiple projects and liaising between post-production labs, digital storage labs and distributors
  • Ordering and managing the creation of film elements according to requested formats and delivery
  • Answering enquiries about material available, negotiating costs and delivery times
  • Checking and communicating credit obligations with distributors for promotional material created
  • Issuing invoices and keeping track of revenue and costs related to material delivery
  • Updating and managing databases (invoices, material specifications and formats)

YOU ARE:

  • Able to demonstrate previous experience in the film industry and in particular in the field of post-production
  • A native or fully-fluent English-speaker with an excellent command of a second language (French and/or German is a plus)
  • Familiar with post-production processes and technical specifications, and aware of the developments in the field of post-production
  • A perfectionist, with attention to detail and able to consistently meet deadlines
  • Flexible with a proactive skill set
  • Computer savvy and proficient in cloud-based applications and virtual workspaces

You will assist our Head of sales Sophie Cabon and our Managing director Philippe Bober with:

  • Researching about Chinese Directors, their previous films and current projects, supporting our founder Philippe Bober for acquisitions of Chinese-speaking films
  • Researching about Chinese distribution companies’ distribution history
  • Scheduling meetings for international Markets and festivals
  • Interpreting during some meetings our founder has with Chinese directors or companies
  • Following up with Chinese and international distributors
  • Searching for Chinese and international prospective customers, market studies
  • Participation to test screenings of our films
  • Assisting our founder during festivals and markets (including personal assistance)
  • Translating from Chinese to English and from English to Chinese, copywriting in Chinese

YOU ARE:

  • A native Chinese speaker with an exquisite command of written and spoken Chinese, and a fully fluent French and/or German-speaker with an excellent command of English
  • Proficient with Excel (market studies, budgets etc.)

JOB OUTLINE:

You will assist our in-house producers, our founder Philippe Bober (and our CFO) with tasks related to production financing and planning, production, reporting and cost accounting that may include:

  • Preparation of film financing applications (German and European film and cinema funds)
  • Researches about funds, investors and credit lines
  • Work on film budgets
  • Cost reports for grants and producers
  • Assisting the in-house producers in the preparation and follow up of the shooting and post-production
  • Copywriting of texts in German language (for instance for press books or financing applications), and occasional translations into German
  • Participation to test screenings of our films
  • Updating of monitoring tools

YOU ARE:

  • A native or fully-fluent German speaker with an exquisite command of written German and an excellent command of English. A knowledge of French would be a plus.
  • Proficient with Excel (budgets, cash-flows…)
