Coproduction Office is looking for an intern in graphic design to collaborate with our marketing coordinator and experienced graphic designers on the marketing (posters, pressbook etc.) of our films in post-production.

Based in Paris and Berlin, Coproduction Office is an international distributor and producer of bold, award-winning films. Coproduction Office's CEO and founder Philippe Bober has worked with prominent ground-breaking directors* from early on in their careers and has produced fourty films to date. The majority of these films were selected for the main competitions in Cannes, Venice and Berlin, where they have received many major prizes, most notably the Venice Golden Lion in 2014 for Roy Andersson’s A PIGEON SAT ON A BRANCH REFLECTING ON EXISTENCE, and the Palme d’Or in 2017 and 2022 for THE SQUARE and TRIANGLE OF SADNESS by Ruben Östlund.

Coproduction Office's international sales division distributes a catalogue composed of films produced by Philippe Bober as well as acquired titles and restored classics, including Roberto Rossellini’s key films. The catalogue is unique for its artistic strength, with films that have an individual and distinctive cinematic language, and often daring content.

The number of staff has tripled in the past four years and Coproduction Office continues to grow as it diversifies its activities (which include a cinema and gastronomy project in Berlin, and increasing its restoration of heritage works). JOB OUTLINE

You will assist our sales and marketing team with some of the following tasks:

Marketing and Press:

  • Ensure communication during the creation of a film’s marketing with the graphic designers, the decision makers, and the printers (for new films and restored titles).
  • Improve the marketing elements for catalogue films with our editors and graphic designers (including trailer, poster, stills, extras and pressbook).
  • Assist with the catalogue sales: suggest ideas for retrospectives and collections.
  • Research and create bonus material for our films in collaboration with our editors (interviews, behind-the-scenes material).
  • Manage and increase the activities on the social media accounts (YouTube, Instagram) and the website.
  • Participate in the digital development of the company: be involved in strategic meeting and assist in the communication with VOD providers.
  • Collect and archive press reviews on our films in multiple languages and suggest press quotes.
  • Participate to test screenings of our films.

Sales:

  • Assist our sales executives during markets (scheduling meetings; writing memos; etc.).
  • Follow up with international distributors.
  • Search for prospective customers (market studies); improving and updating the client and deal database.
  • Assist the sales team in the negotiation for catalogue film sales (providing information on the material available and prices).

YOU ARE:

  • A native or fully fluent English-speaker with an excellent command of German and/or French. Other languages are a plus.
  • A perfectionist, with attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • A cinephile with a strong interest in marketing.
  • Able to think outside the boxes.
  • Precise, Proficient with Excel and databases.
  • Able to demonstrate previous experience in the film industry (a plus).

JOB OUTLINE:

You will work in Coproduction Office’s sales department in interaction with other departments (production, finance, festivals, marketing, deliverables) and participate to the following tasks:

  • Preparing application and reports for banks and credit institutions active in the film sector
  • Establishing films’ sales and marketing budget: at the occasion of the premier of the films and in the context of funding applications (Creative Europe, CNC, European Film promotion)
  • Preparing costs reports for producers and funds
  • Managing Royalties reports (contacting distributors and analyzing the provided reports)
  • Analyzing films revenues across various platforms and territories (with a specific focus on the evolution of digital revenues) and presenting the results to the sales team
  • Updating financial Databases
  • Doing market research
  • Participating to test screenings of our films during the post-production stage (not mandatory)

YOU ARE:

A native English, French or German speaker with an excellent command of the other two languages

Aufgaben

Was Sie erwartet:

Profil

Was Sie mitbringen:

 Geübter Umgang mit SESAM FIBU / (Lohn) von Vorteil

 Sehr gute Kenntnisse in der Rechnungslegung nach HGB/IFRS. Idealerweise auch in der Konzernrechnungslegung eines internationalen Unternehmens

JOB OUTLINE:

You will work on with our COO and our Festival and Acquisition coordinator, on the following tasks:

Acquisition:

  • Research right-holders of classic films for our international sales.

  • Prepare financing applications for the acquisition and restoration of films.

  • Schedule meetings for international Markets and festivals (Cannes, Bologna, Lumière etc.).

  • Plan and coordinate acquisition screenings for classic and recent films.

Festivals and Materials:

  • Conduct research on festivals.

  • Submit our films to festivals.

  • Be involved in the festivals strategy.

  • Negotiate screenings fees.

  • Provide Materials to festivals (all films) and to distributors (catalogue films).

  • Help with talent coordination (promotional tours, press).

  • Assist with event organization (premieres, cocktails, dinners and parties).

  • Be involved in the restoration process (material research, discussion with the lab and delivery of the new material).

YOU ARE:

  • Passionate and knowledgeable about the history of cinema

  • A native or fully fluent English speaker, with an excellent command of two other languages (French, Italian, German or Japanese would be an advantage).

  • Able to demonstrate previous experience in the film industry (a plus).

  • Interested in the technical aspects of films. A previous experience in film restoration or material deliveries would be a plus.

  • A perfectionist, with attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
